Importing Velocity™ Watch Lists

If you are migrating from Velocity to StreetSmart.com, you may want to bring your Watch Lists with you. Use the following steps to import a Watch List, and please take note of the exceptions listed below regarding certain types of symbols that may present issues when importing.

Exporting from Velocity

From within Velocity:

1. Click the Tools tab in your Velocity software, which will open the Export options.

2. Select the *.tab format to create a tab delimited file.

3. Check Watch List Data (and nothing else) for the Source.

4. Click Export. A window will open allowing you to specify a file name and location. It is not necessary to specify the .tab extension.

5. Click Save and a confirmation message will display when the export is complete.

6. Follow the instructions below for importing the list into StreetSmart.com.

Importing to StreetSmart.com

Note that if you have 25 Watch Lists already saved in StreetSmart.com, you are at the maximum allowed threshold and will not be able to import any lists from Velocity. However, as long as you have fewer than 25 StreetSmart.com watch lists, all your Velocity lists will be imported.

1. In the Watch List tab under Quotes & Research, click Modify List.

2. Select Import from Velocity from the menu in the window that opens. If you have already exported your Velocity watch lists, click Continue.

3. In the Import Watch Lists window that opens, click Browse to find your saved Velocity Watch List export file.
   

4. Once you find the file, you need to specify what happens if one or more of the Velocity Watch List names is the same as an existing watch list name in StreetSmart.com.
   - Replace duplicates with imported lists will cause the imported list from Velocity to overwrite the StreetSmart.com list.
   - Do not import duplicate lists will cause StreetSmart.com to reject any watch list that has a name already in use.

5. Click Continue when you are ready to import the file.

6. If the import is successful and complete, the following window will display. It is recommended that you click Edit to return to the Edit Watch List Properties window and review the imported lists for accuracy. Note the exceptions below that may occur when importing from Velocity. You may also click Done to return to the main StreetSmart.com screen.

Import Exceptions

• Invalid symbols will be filtered out when importing from Velocity to StreetSmart.com.

• Market indicators and Indices will import correctly if they use the '$' leading symbol. If they do not have this symbol and cannot be differentiated from a valid equity symbol, it could map to the equity symbol.

• Canadian stocks that are cross-listed will import correctly, but those that cannot be differentiated from a valid, US equity symbol may map to the US symbol.

• Bonds will not be imported.
