Positions

Open the Positions page, under the Accounts tab, to view a list of all open positions in your account.

Navigate to the Accounts tab and select Positions.

My View

  1. Choose how you wish your positions to be sorted by clicking on the drop down menu. Select between the 'Default', 'Underlying', 'Strategy', or 'Advanced Strategy.
  2. The page will refresh with information for all of your holdings sorted by the selected strategy.

Daily P&L

  1. Click on the Daily P&L in the gray bar at the top of your Account Positions.
  2. View how much each stock or option has changed that day by looking at the Daily Change column in the row of columns beneath the Daily P&L tab.
  3. See the amount a stock or option value has changed that day by looking underneath the Value Change column in the row of columns beneath the Daily P&L tab.
  4. View the % amount each holding has changed for that day under the Change % column in the row of columns beneath the Daily P&L tab.
  5. See the total Value and % change for all of your holdings combined so far for that day at the bottom of the Daily P&L Page.

Cost Basis Method

  1. Click on the Cost Basis tab in the gray bar at the top of your Account Positions to view the cost basis per share for all your holdings.
  2. To change your cost basis:
    1. Set an Account-level CBM via Schwab.com by going to Service > Account Settings > Cost basis method for equities, options, and fixed income and click the Edit cost basis method link). You can also link to the site by clicking the CBM: [method] link at the top of the Positions tab. Changes are effective the following day.

    2. You can change CBM for individual orders on Schwab.com as well, by going to Trade > Order Status and clicking the View/Edit link of the order you want to change, then click Change.

Greeks

  1. Click on the Greeks tab in the gray bar at the top of your Account Positions to view the Greek risk measurements for each of your options or positions.
  2. View the Historical Volatility, Delta, and Position Delta, Gamma, Theta, and Vega for each Position.

Order Status

  1. Click on the Order Status tab in the gray bar at the top of your Account Positions to view the status of your orders.
